Overview
Female client arrived at Hassocks Road via Crisis Pathway.
Initially perceived everything to be difficult and confusing: did not want to engage with anyone at Hassocks Road. Staff’s gentle persistence and encouragement enabled her to try things she seemed to be anxious about previously:
She was anxious about choices relating to eating: worried about failure and lacked skills to prepare meals/snacks independently.

Overview
Male client on Delayed Transfer of Care pathway referred to Spencer Road. On arrival, he went by taxi, to his Mum’s for breakfast every morning; as he lacked the skill, motivation and experience of preparing his own meals independently.
Staff’s encouragement and engagement allowed him to discover and discuss what he could prepare himself for breakfast. Staff supported him to prepare simple breakfast meals.
Staff utilised a personalised approach and changed the available breakfast choices to be inclusive of his needs, and bought new food items for him to chose from
