We provide high-quality accommodation and support for
mental health service users living in the community
Southcroft Lodge provides hotel-style accommodation for patients discharged from hospital, support for those in Crisis in the Community, long-term supported-living community placements and B&B step-down from the hospital.
Our aim is to provide a therapeutic, structured environment for Clients to continue their recovery in the community. We empower the individuals we work with to realise their potential:
These homes are staffed 24 hours a day during the day and night-time by waking staff. Service Users are referred to these homes because they are not able to live...
on their own in the community due to their mental state and their lack of experience and knowledge of independent living skills.
Service Users will be referred to stay for up to 2 years (on average)
The main focus of intervention is to provide support, training and development of an individual’s independent daily living skills in terms of their mental and physical health, their quality of life and their social engagement in the community where they live.

living in the community, or because they would benefit from a supportive, staffed environment because they are in a mental health crisis and are not safe to live on their own temporarily.
Service users stay here generally for up to either 2 weeks (in crisis) or up to 1 month if moving back to live in the community from hospital. The main focus of support from staff is to either work with the Service User’s multi-disciplinary team to unblock barriers to them returning home and offer short-term interventions in the meantime, or to support them with their mental health crisis by offering specific and tailored crisis interventions

Service users are referred to these homes for a short period of time whilst they are found long-term placements.
The main focus of intervention is to offer practical support and help and act as a point of contact for professionals and service users. Those who live in these homes are fairly independent both in their daily living skills and stable in their mental state

“I enjoyed my stay at Hassocks. Engagement and support from staff and as well as engagement with other clients gave me the distraction tool and escape option I needed. I would definitely recommend others to grab the opportunity if presented to them to agree to being referred to Hassocks”
“I feel anxious but if I can have good support like I am having here I will keep trying”.
“Hassocks gave me the space I needed from home, and I enjoyed talking and mixing with others and not feeling low as I had people around me all the time. I feel better going home now …”
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me, after I get to work, I want to invite you for a coffee to be honest”
Thank you very much for all your care and support! I am indebted to the team who took extraordinary efforts to steer me the right direction and ensure living independently. Many thanks to Mrs OA (my key support worker) for her professional, intuitive and or dedicated care to achieve the outcome today!
“To whom it may concern, I'd like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Kempshott Road [step-down home with 3 CoS staff]. My son moved in on 1 June of this year, and since then he has been stable in his wellbeing, and this has mainly been due to the staff. The staff at Kempshott are very kind, patient and understanding. They do their absolute best to maintain a healthy, clean, and calm environment. They treat visitors and tenants with the utmost respect, and when I have had instances to be concerned about my son (when I've not been able to reach him on his phone), the staff have been quick to reassure me all was well. When my son had a mini crisis, they able to gently assess his needs without causing him additional concern. Staff are very kind and always very reassuring. I cannot fault this service and I'm very happy to know my son is safe, day and night. This service is much needed, but what makes it work so well are the staff!! Thank you”
